-Aluminum is more expensive than plastic
-Aluminum is more durable than plastic
-Aluminum is easier to recycle, does not downgrade as much with every recycling

Mike, those are good ideas, especially with the lights in the library and student center. The only problem with the student checkup idea is that it seems that students not involved in the club are not very willing to do check ups on the lights (maybe we could create incentives for advisories that do a lot of work for it?). Another good idea would be working with the IT department to make sure that all computers are put on a setting in which they go to sleep quicker. We tried that this year, but we did it late in the GCC so it did not have the effect it could have.

Just an idea for next year regarding the GCC. I think we should go back to designating each grade or enivironmental club members to a building on campus to perform regular check ups to make sure as little lights are on as possible. Maybe next year we should also get the library and the student center to turn off at least half of the lights because those two buildings have plenty of natural lighting as it is.
